Orlando, FL (January 14, 2025) – Two outstanding UCF student officials, Isabella Price, and Brandon Smith, earned recognition at this year’s National Flag Football Tournament held in Jacksonville from December 15-18. Isabella, a junior studying Information Technology, and Brandon, a junior studying Business Management, both received All-American honors, placing them in the top 8 of the group as evaluated by the Official’s Committee. This marks Isabella’s second All-American honor for flag football.

The Official’s Committee, responsible for evaluating and developing officials throughout the tournament, included the Recreation & Wellness Center’s (RWC) very own Intramural Sports Coordinator, Emilee Howard. Her involvement underscores the RWC’s commitment to fostering student development in recreational sports at a national level.

Additionally, our women’s club flag football team made an impressive showing, securing second place in the highly competitive tournament. Alongside them, an Intramural Co-Rec team also represented UCF, further demonstrating the RWC’s excellence in flag football on both the playing field and the officiating front.

“I continue to be impressed with UCF on a national stage and while falling short our women’s team competed in the National Championship game. Additionally, two of our student officials, Brandon Smith and Isabella Price, were selected as All-American officials signifying that they are two of the best in the country,” said Jim Wilkening, Executive Director of the Recreation & Wellness Center.

This year’s event was hosted at the Jacksonville Jaguars practice facility, marking the first time NIRSA partnered with an NFL team. Traditionally, the National Flag Football Tournament has been held on college campuses or at a sports complex, making this partnership a significant milestone in the tournament’s history.

The RWC continues to offer students diverse opportunities to grow both on and off the field through competitive sports and leadership roles. The accomplishments of Isabella, Brandon, and the participating teams reflect UCF’s strong presence in collegiate recreational sports.
