Lifeguard Certification


The lifeguards at the RWC are all certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. Lifeguard classes are taught by the Lifeguard Instructor Staff in house in summer, fall, and spring of each school year.

  • Time brick retrieval
  • 200-yard swim
  • Two-minute water tread

Lifeguard Certification Overview

  1. Once the pre-test is passed, lifeguard candidates will be required to complete an online training module before the in-person classroom sessions. This must be completed before the first day of class.
  2. Classroom sessions consist of 1 evening and 2 full days of training – candidates must be present for all sessions.
  3. After completing the class, lifeguard candidates will receive their certifications that lasts for two years

How to Register

  2. You can also register in person at the Administration Office of the RWC during open hours.
  3. Registrations are first-come, first-served. We cannot offer refunds unless the class is cancelled by the RWC.

Certification Cost

  • $150 for current UCF students or students with a Student Summer Membership
  • $250 for RWC Members and any other individuals.
